Removing the Headway Attribution

The Headway attribution is the text in the Footer Block that appears by default: “Powered by Headway, the drag and drop WordPress theme.” The Headway license allows you to remove this text, and it’s incredibly straightforward—however, since it is one of thousands of options in the theme, it’s no wonder that it is often missed by beginners.

Step 1: Open the Visual Editor

Using the Headway menu in the WordPress admin panel, open the Headway Visual Editor.

Step 2: Open the Footer Block Options

The footer block is often placed at the bottom of your site; locate the footer block in the Blog Index layout, right-click the block, and click Open Block Options.

The block options display in the options panel along the bottom of the Visual Editor.

Step 3: Check “Hide Headway Attribution”

In the Block Options, check the “Hide Headway Attribution” option. You will see the attribution disappear immediately!

Step 4: Save the Visual Editor

Don’t forget to save your changes using the Save button in the top right-hand corner!

Tip: You can choose to leave the Headway attribution and make a little dough from our affiliate program by signing up for the Affiliate Program and adding your unique URL on the Headway Options page in the WordPress admin.
