Grant, I just LOVE your company for this block!
I was wondering few days ago if something like that is possible in HT!
You are doing such a great job!
ps. is it possible to use this extend let’s say just to some categories on my blog? I was thinking about something like that: you click “recipies” (I got a food blog) and they are displayed as pins, but main page still has “normal” look.
@Atria The Pin Board block can be added layout you wish. Plus you can use the query options to make them to display posts from specific categories :-).
I really happy to read this post. i also like Pin Board because it gives you the ability to display your content in a format similar to the popular social media service.
@make your own website Glad to hear! The Pinterest concept is perfect for display many different types of content 🙂
Watched the demo! its more like Pinterest.
But how do you add images with captions pinterest-style? Does each image have to be a separate blog post like corey did? I dont want stuff repeated from the blog. I have uploaded images to the media library, and selected media in query filters but they are not showing. Just a blank page
for some reason my image doesn’t show up http://simplecyber.ca/findings/ on the page where I installed Pinboard. The post seems to be there. If I hover over where it should be tooltips Pin this etc show up and if I click in that area I go to the associated post. It also shows up in the editor as it should just not on the running site.
my full post does not show up when the post is clicked?
Any idea? Please
I am having a problem scrolling down on the Pinboard demo when I view it in my iPad.
is there a way to have a read more button on the pins I have on my front page. I am using excepts but it isnt showing a read more button to get to the actual post…?
Unfortunately not, but we can definitely look into adding this feature 🙂
Any way to put a add action hook function to implement such a feature [read more text] (via child themes functions.php)?
Clay mentioned the Query options to show specific posts on the pin board. Where can I find that “Query Options”?
Jonathan,
In the Pin Board block, you’ll need to set the Query Mode to “Custom Query” and then you’ll see the additional query filters.
Please let us know if you have any other questions.
Is there any way to apply custom filters to pages? Right now, I’ve got the pinboard showing all pages, and I’d like to exclude some (like a contact page, etc).
How would you customize to make the meta show tags instead of categories in the posts?
