In the Ultimate Guide to Headway SEO part 1, we covered how to configure the main SEO settings for Headway. Now that your foundation is built correctly, each post you create and SEO correctly adds a “brick” to the building. Over time, you build an impenetrable fortress of improved search engine rankings.
The trick to doing this successfully is really no trick at all: you must be conscious and consistent in how you optimize your posts:
- Use your main keywords in titles and opening sentences
- Use tools like the fully Headway-compatible Scribe SEO to help ensure your keywords are on target
- Always supply a custom title
- Always supply a description that drives the reader to click the link in SERPs (think of it like an ad)

Hi Michael
Wow – love that SERPS preview.
Video is brilliant.
Well presented, great pace and love the voice.
Good graces of the Google gods. LOL
Just started looking at Headway and am so far very impressed.
Thanks for both of these tutorials. Very helpful in explaining the features and also in providing some great practices for SEO in general.
I just purchased Headway and started learning WordPress, and now one of the firms that I’m developing for has a consultant telling me that WordPress is really not a good choice for SEO. Can anyone in the forum give me some pointers on how I might counter their arguments? I really love Headway and my other new tools, and would hate to have to switch gears right now.
Thanks!
Easy. Matt Cuts who works at Google uses WordPress. He is one of the head search engines guys there. I think that should stop any concerns about WordPress not being a good choice for SEO. Your “consultant” might want to learn things like this.
Thank you for the work you have put into this post, it helps clear up some questions I had.I will bookmark your blog because your posts are very informative. We appreciate your posts and look forward to coming back
